When Making Deposits
BBB Tips Regarding Deposits:
* Start with a company you can trust. Only give money to trustworthy companies that are BBB Accredited, or at least have a positive BBB Business Review. Visit denver.bbb.org to check reviews and access the online directory of BBB Accredited Businesses.
* It's all based on terms. Some deposits are completely non-refundable, some are refundable only within a certain timeframe and some are refundable depending on the company's policies.
* Get it in writing. Make sure to get the deposit terms in writing and don't sign anything that is not agreeable.
* Pay with a credit card. If you make a deposit using a credit card and the company doesn't hold up their end of the agreement and refund your deposit, you can dispute it with your credit card company within an allotted timeframe.
If you need further help with a dispute, file a written complaint with the BBB at denver.bbb.org or mail to: 1020 Cherokee St Denver, CO 80204.
